NW seeing the light?

Radio News from British Columbia

Postby tuned » Tue Jun 27, 2006 11:19 am

With apologies to the other board for the title I think the NW braintrust might have realized that they have gone too far. A couple of weeks ago I posted a grumble about some teenage sounding girl reading the 10 o'clock news on a weeknight. Last night I'm driving along and who do I hear reading the tenner? None other than Terry Bell. Last time I heard Terry he was reading evening newscasts on the weekend over at WX. Terry is a major market newsreader of the calibre that NW and 730 need to have on their air 24/7 if they want to maintain/build any credibility. Perhaps his hiring is a sign of more to come, or maybe not but it is a good start.

Wasn't Terry at NW before this? Am sure I've heard him weeks or months before this

I just got an email from someone saying that he's been there for atleast a year. Where have they been hiding him? Was he at WX prior to coming to NW?

Overnights? So that's where they keep the talent!

Brilliant! Revolutionary thinking! quick someone book the convention centre so we can host a ground-breaking seminar.

Hey, if there's going to be any seminar held it might as well be right at the source:

The Corus Cluster lunchroom on the 20th floor of the TD Tower.

With all of the bodies they've fired out of that place over the last few months, could there be a more deserted, lonlier place in downtown Vancouver?

Sagebrush blowing through the hallways, a rusting "suggestion box" dangling from a crumbling support beam - it's all very sad.

Talk about a term that sounds like a disease in desperate need of a cure.

Doctor: Mr Crashly-Kinkade sit down, your test results are in.

Me: tell it to me straight Doc. I can take it.

Doctor: See these bumps? i'm afraid you have the Corus Clusters.

Me: Shit! I knew I shouldn't have taken it up me arse!

I know, it's ridiculous - but they're the ones who use it all the time.

I'm not sure if they came up with the term themselves or if it was the mutated result of some deranged Human Resources think tank they hired.

I suspect the latter.

The Corus Cluster, you know, after a while it kind of grows on you.

Oh shit, for the love of God, somebody, please call a doctor!

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.
