Bye To Brenn

Postby cart_machine » Mon Jun 29, 2015 1:37 pm

Best wishes to Brian Brenn, who's decided to make his retirement from CKWX permanent.

He started at the station around April 1964 after coming out of the UBC radio station before moving hither and yon. He returned to 'WX soon after it changed to a news format in 1996 after a number of years at 'QM and then managing 1040 during one of its music incarnations.

Put your feet up Brian. Time to take that long-deserved rest.
I've been in the easy chair for a year and 7 days (but who's counting) and it hasn't hurt a bit.
All the best,

Easily one of the best news readers in the business. And combined with Andy Walsh a powerhouse duo for weekend mornings on 'WX. Any station would be lucky to have either or both of these fine broadcasters. I notice that Brian came back briefly to 'WX. I shall miss his voice.

Great newsie - although we worked at Ash Street together for a long time - we didn't know each other well - but Brian was a real pro.
Enjoy a long, happy retirement, Brian. All the best from Rome.
Nearly 40 degrees today here and one amazing place.
