BRAVERMAN, Jack Israel
October 5, 1927 – June 26, 2016
We lost our beloved Jack, Dad, and Zayde, to Parkinson's. Loved by his wife, Doreen; sister, Ann (Al Hersh); daughters, Susan (Wade Knutson) and Laura (Colin Hansen); sons, Bill Turecki (Susan Livingston) and Bob Turecki. His eight grandchildren, Alexandra, Grey, Rachel, Mackenzie, Aaron, Marten, Samantha, and Ross say goodbye to the amazing man that they grew up with. Uncle Jack will also be missed by his nephews and nieces, Harold, Martin, Shelley, Rick, and Cheryl. Jack was the most loving, caring, and kind person. A formidable tennis player, he had many friends both at the Jericho, where he met Doreen, and Vancouver Lawn Tennis Clubs. Jack was tops in Canada in radio time sales for 18 years. Before the expression was coined, he was successful because of "relationship selling". He was friends with all his clients. He lunched with them, had a martini with them, played tennis with them, and even the odd game of golf, even though he wasn't a great golfer. When he retired, he travelled with Doreen and continued to perfect his tennis game. He did collections for The Flag Shop and played bridge weekly with his long-time friends. He always had a delightful wit. Even when very ill, he teased the care givers, Faith and Jean: "Stop being so bossy". Jack will be missed by every person who had the privilege to know him. Special thanks to Dr. Steve Roberts and the nursing staff at Pacific Spirit Health Centre. Celebration of his life will be at the Arbutus Club, Arbutus and Nanton, on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. There is underground parking for guests. Please, no flowers or gifts; donate to the Parkinson Society British Columbia, or a charity of your choice.
