Since the program runs nationally, it would interesting to know if all the other Corus stations airing it, did the same thing.

If so, it kind of lets CKNW off the hook for the error, whether it was a bad decision or a technical error.

On a trivia note, what program has Corus repeated more times than this Charles Adler show? Answer: "Christmas Is", at least here in the Prairies, where the 12 hour late 1990s edition was, as usual, run twice in a row this year over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day on CHED and other stations. The voice segments actually date back to the mid-1980s, with Paul Preston and the late Robert O. Smith.

I heard it run at least 3 times in Calgary. This should be an opportunity for them to let a rookie get a chance to get on air. But I'm sure this was a cheaper and easier alternative. God forbid they actually bring someone up through their system, but then who would be qualified to work with and train these people?

They've got a station solely for that purpose already. It can be heard on 730.

This isn't something new, they do this to cut the costs but it is damn irritating to listen the same thing again.

Corporate Radio, more specifically, has taken on the insurance company model - supply the least possible coverage at the greatest possible price.
Everybody else can go screw themselves.
Capitalism at its best. Even when it's not working.
Meanwhile and on a more sobering note: How many of us still cling to the "free enterprise" mythology...?
