CKPM doesn't want it's license

Postby PicturesForYourEars » Fri Jan 27, 2017 5:21 pm

OBVIOUSLY.
Last week I posted here that the owner doing afternoon drive seemed like he was playing back old voice tracks during afternoon drive....

Well..
just heard this....
415 pm Friday jan. 27.

"Its a grey Wednesday and Mary Tyler Moore died this morning..."

One has to really feel sorry for hard working mirning man Rod McBeth who is EVERYWHERE in the community...besides sounding great on the air trying to build up the station!

You know they're doing it just to piss you off as their only listener, right?

PFYE must be the only listener. In almost a year in the Tri Cities area, I've yet to hear CKPM in any restaurant, store or office I've been in. I've seen absolutely nothing in the way of station promotion and
I've still yet to find anyone who listens to or has ever listened to CKPM.

Do they still have studios buried away somewhere in Port Moody?
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

By way of full disclosure, my current occupation allows me to scan radio dials, 37.5 hours a week!

They have a couple of their Batman-colour-theme contra ads weekly in Tri-cities News...but...THAT'S it!

I believe they are still across from Shoppers on St. Johns, but their exterior sign was removed long ago.

As Radiofan observes, the station could go dark and nobody would know!

I really encourage independent small stations...a tough business to be in!
