Changes At Pattison Radio Kelowna, BC

Stu Crouse, General Manager of the Jim Pattison Broadcast Division in Kelowna, is pleased to announce that both Jasmin Doobay and Susan Knight will move into Program Director roles with their Kelowna stations effective May 1, 2017.

Doobay, whose hometown is Kelowna, grew up listening to radio at 104.7 on the FM dial and now she will become the Program Director at the same spot on the dial for Active Rocker, Power 104.
Doobay studied broadcasting at BCIT in 1989 and started her career CILK-FM in Kelowna after graduating but moved quickly to CFOX and shortly thereafter to Rock 101, both in Vancouver.
Jasmin married and had a baby and found herself moving back to Kelowna in 2003 where she handled news duties on the morning show just 5 weeks before the Okanagan Mountain Park fire. She moved into the News Director’s role shortly thereafter, took on the Power 104 Morning Show co-hosting duties in 2007 and became APD of the station in 2014.
Along the way she was the RTNDA Radio Rep for BC for 2 years, has been on the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council since 2008 and has just been invited to join the BCAB Board this year.

Knight graduated from Fanshawe College in 1996 and started her career the same year at Q92 in Sudbury, Ontario working as swing announcer and Assistant Music Director as well as Copy. She moved up through the ranks moving to CKSY FM 95 Chatham, then to Mountain FM in Squamish, BC for 7 years holding down various duties including Promotions Director/APD and Mornings. Then Susan moved on to Victoria to work Afternoon Drive and AMD at B107.3 and KOOL FM. From there it was to Mornings at SUN FM in Kelowna, then onto Afternoon Drive at UP in Calgary and finally landed three years ago doing mornings at Kelowna’s Hottest Hits Q103.1 – where she became APD in 2016.
Susan currently holds World Records (plural…) in Women’s Power Lifting and represented Team Canada at the World Championships in Erie, Pennsylvania in 2016.
Susan will take on the Program Directors role at Q103.1

Current Program Director of Power 104 and Q103.1, Bob Mills, will move into a Senior Program Advisor’s role with the stations, while maintaining his position on the Power 104 Morning Show. When Jasmin Doobay takes on her fulltime PD duties for Power, her on air position will be taken by veteran broadcaster and current Pattison Producer/Announcer, Bob Johnstone.
All moves at Pattison Kelowna, will become effective Monday, May 1.

Sounds like great moves. Nothing controversial here.

Who is Stu Crouse, though? I thought the GM of the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group was based in Kamloops, Rich Arnish or something like that, or have they introduced new managerial roles or is he basically the new Bruce what's-his-name that was the General Sales Manager in Kelowna?

Cheers,
Doug
