RADIO PROGRAMME REVIEW
Notes of Interest to Home Radio Fans
By A.E. Roberts
[The Sunday Province, May 20, 1928]
Mrs. Mabel L. Tomer (Aunt Emma), so well known to the juvenile radio fans of the coast, is now manager of CFCQ and her children’s programme goes on the air each Friday at 7:30 p.m. Several new features have been added to the daily programmes from CFCQ.

CKWX is rapidly growing and has taken on its first real staff artist. This new member of CKWX is Francis Wade, an actor well known in both stock and radio shows, and is the possessor of a fine baritone voice for radio work. He has had considerable radio experience, having broadcasted from WBBM, Chicago, and other prominently Eastern stationers, and recently over KHQ, Spokane.

With the passing of station CFYC of the International Bible Students Association in Vancouver, the reallotment of tine has finally been settled and out of the spoils, CKWX has increased its time schedule to the extent of four new hours per week. Vancouver, having wanted an hour of silence on the 410.7 meter waveband, now has this hour on Thursday between 7:30 and 8:30, and this will no doubt assist the DX fan in bringing in Eastern stations without local interference. It is hoped that those who have been agitating for this silence will make use of the hour and be benefited by it.

CJOR will introduce a new feature Tuesday at 7 p.m. when the CJOR Melody Kings will play instrumental selections. This station has also introduced a daily programme of music at 11 a.m. for one hour. The Pantages Theatre programme is broadcast every Tuesday at 8 p.m.
