Ah yes, the days when we (Mcrae, Hodge, me and others) would
sit next to the CFMI news person, usually Rosie, Jenny, Christine,
even Tom P. for awhile, at our typewriters, with our carts and piles
of wirecopy to sift through. Seems like only yesterday.......Lets
face it, the place was magic in terms of the airwaves, but Mcbride
was a dump, at least by the time I got there (87) it was pretty run down.

Sure the place was a dump - but at least it had soul - something you can't say about its current incarnation.

When it comes to radio I prefer to remember the past when it actually stood for something.

I was more impressed with the people than the building - you can go into a cool Safeway store anywhere...but

The studios were first rate and the engineers were attentive.

My last day at 815 would be around late '82 and I didn't notice any
problems in the building.

I agree with Pluto - the era tells it all. Tiger Al, McKeech, Barker and
McKitrick - John Plul, Reg the janitor and Erm, Cox and Robson, Hal and Frisbee. Many more of course..too many to name.
