Old Pictures

A look back at various radio stations

Postby Jack Bennest » Mon Aug 28, 2006 7:32 am

Now this is for old timers or for people like me that can not believe this existed.

CJOR was in the basement of the Grosvenor and the hotel had a good business - there is a chance Chandler had a separate address for a entrance. There is proof of two addresses being used for CJOR on Howe.

Help!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to James Bergquist for the photo

edited to make it clear that when I worked there you walked into the lobby of the hotel to get to the stairs to CJOR and there really wasn't any ident outside that I remember.

It is the CJOR radio studio that was directly across the street from the Grosvenor Hotel which housed the main radio station. These studios were used for such things as "Town Meeting In Canada" hosted by Arthur Helps. I used to do my Teen Canteen out of these studios and I have photos of the interior.
