Mike Powley passes

Postby radiofan » Fri Aug 24, 2012 7:39 am

A note from Brian "Frosty" Forst with news that early 1960's C-FUN Librarian Mikle Powley passed away earlier this week from cancer.

From Brian's note ...

He was a great friend of radio...original involvement was an indispensable jack of all trades to CFUN's Good Guys...back in the 60s when they started rock and proceeded to knock off the mighty 'WX with Red...and rule for about 5 years. Mike went on to establish a very successful business life including lots of work with BCIT.

If you can rustle up that photo I had taken of the originals on the steps of the old CFUN a few years ago...out of the 6, 3 are gone. Brian Lord, Gerry Landa...and now Mike "The Kid" Powley.

Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Sorry to hear this. Nice man - spoke to him a number of times at events.

In the hands of Landa and the Lord

RIP
