Gary Russell passes

Postby radiofan » Sun Jan 03, 2016 1:50 pm

After a courageous battle with lung cancer, Gary Russell (Norm Vidler) passed away in White Rock on January 2nd at age 67

Gary spent many years on air and in programming at Moffat stations CKY and CKLG, a stint at the Big 8 CKLW in the early 1970s. He was manager at Standard's CISL and CKZZ until 2008. In addition to his radio work, he served on boards at BCAB, BBM, NABS West and Music BC,

Condolences to his family and brothers Jeff Vidler and Chuck McCoy.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

My thoughts are with Chuck McCoy and the rest of the Vidler Family.
My sincere condolences, on this huge loss.
Gary helped a lot of people become great broadcasters.
He was the real deal.
RIP.

This is terrible, and yet another example of a life ending way to soon. Gary was the ultimate radio pro and had developed so many talent over the years. My thoughts are with Chuck,Jeff and the entire Vidler family. So sorry to hear this very sad news.
