Where are they now

Postby johnsykes » Mon Jun 14, 2010 8:40 am

I found a very interesting web site that may be of great interest to many of you.

I don't think I've ever seen the Oceanside Media Club mentioned on here.

http://www.idylix.com/mediaclub/bios.html

A great many radio/tv stars of yesteryear living on Vancouver Island.

Cheers all, glad many of you had a good meet yesterday

I bloody well beg to differ...I posted the first reference to this site, thank you very much......oh well, who gives a hoot anyway.
Enjoy. I'd be happy as hell if some of my old compadres joined up here, or better still, provided their email addresses.....namely one Al Shaver....worked with him at CKGM in Montreal as well as him getting me a job at Canada's largest bowling centre, Rose Bowl Lanes, which I later managed when Al went to stardom as the play-by-play gut of the Minnesota North Stars......and Robb Glazier who I had the fun with doing colour for the Bruins in 1976....Bernie Pascall, who got shafted by B.C. TV after millions of years......and others.

Oh that site....oops. Oh well, it's only Monday. Another six days to the end of the week. Think I'll go to the corner and sulk now.

Regardless of whether it was posted here before, it was nice to browse the list of members and see some old -- excuse me, where's my head, I mean FORMER -- Reginans in the list and doing well, such as Sherv Shragge, Laurie Artiss, and Harold Hamilton.

OCEANSIDE Media Club on Vancouver Island
by Mediatype » 06 Jan 2010 03:57 pm

Some of you may be aware of this already. I bumped into this website http://www.idylix.com/mediaclub.htmlthat has many names (66) from Radio/TV/Print as members of their media club in and around Parksville, Qualicum, Nanaimo etc.. There are many well known names as well as behind-the-scenes type people that many of you may know. Check out the crew list here: http://www.idylix.com/mediaclub/bios.html. I would say most are retired and it is surprising how many ex-broadcasters end up here on Vancouver Island.'Fair? You want me to be fair? Listen, fair is a place where you go to ride on rides, eat cotton candy and step in elephant poop.'

yes there was a first thread on this subject introduced by Mediatype in January.
