In the early 1980's, we had an operator at CKNW whose name was Larry. For the life of me I can't recall his last name, maybe Russ Byth or John Saboe will remember him.
Larry wasn't a kid, he was a full time BC Hydro bus driver (before the days of Trans Link) who took BCIT evening classes and was highly recommended by Brian Antonson
or Kenny Harris. In the time he was working at NW, I left and went to Calgary and never heard what became of him.
I guess what made me think of Larry was the fact that he was the one and only person in the province of BC who had the vanity plate that read RADIO. Just wondering if
he ever fulfilled his dream of getting into radio full time or if he stuck with driving a transit bus.
