Brian "Frosty" Forst in hospital

Postby radiofan » Sun Mar 27, 2011 6:31 pm

Hi Guys:

Quick note to let you know that Brian Forst had a heart attack this morning. He's
okay. He was operated on at Royal Columbia and is now resting comfortably in
Peace Arch Hospital. He'll be going home tomorrow. He's in good spirits.

Paul Preston

Thanks for passing this on Paul .. and a speedy recovery to Brian!

I just talked to former CKNW GM Rod Gunn. Him and his wife happened to be out on their balcony this morning when Frosty (who does almost daily walks along the beach in White Rock) called up to them and asked if Rod could get him to he hospital,as he didn't feel well. Rod took him straight to emergency at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock where they determined Frosty had had a heart attack. Rod reports Frosty was in good spirits and joking about things as they were enroute to the hospital.

Frosty was more worried about getting his bike retrieved from the pay parking on the street (before it got towed) than anything else!

I would also like to wish Frosty the very best and a complete recovery from the heart attack. Frosty is certainly one of the great radio legends from the Vancouver radio dial!!!! Personally I think he was the best morning show host I ever heard on CKNW far better than whats on there currently!!!!! Anyway all the best to Frosty!!!! Take care everyone!

Update from Frosty ...

Postby radiofan » Wed Mar 30, 2011 8:02 pm

Brian is out of the hospital and back home at the trailer park in Newton now ...

Home at last...seemed like a long 3 days. Cant beat home cookin and your own bed. Most frustrating part is too many pills now, no car or bike for a month...and some dyslexia kind of thing with typing.

Grateful for the kind words of the radiowest gang..and mostly for Rodd Gunn who was superb getting me quickly in.

Jeez Brian = DON'T SCARE US LIKE THAT.

Good job by my old pal, Mr. Gunn.

Time has flown by.

It feels good to know that both you and Big Daddy are both feeling better, as is brother Ashbridge, oh he of the golden tones.

Now all take your vitamins...
