Rogers Cuts More Staff

"Facing stiff competition in the cable, Internet and wireless worlds, Rogers Communications Inc. announced the elimination of 375 jobs on Tuesday.

Spokeswoman Patricia Trott said employees affected are across all types of jobs in those divisions from frontline positions to some managers. The layoffs are mostly effective immediately.

I wonder if any of those people could have been kept around - in order to provide a better, more orderly and quicker set of services to the customers. But, I won't be wondering hard and I won't be wondering for long.

It wasn't that long ago that Shaw laid off a boatload of people.

It couldn't have been more than 6 months later and they are on a hiring spree.

Cable companies are starting to sound like the Oil Industry in Alberta.
