NLogic Announces New Approach to Audience Data Analysis
2015-04-09

NLogic (formerly BBM Analytics), the leading provider of software, data and consumer insight to the broadcast and advertising industry in Canada, announced the launch of Lens, their new approach to audience data analysis. “We’ve built our own cloud-based warehouse from which we will build Lens into a portfolio of audience data analysis products designed to delight our customers.” explains David Phillips, President & COO of NLogic.

While NLogic will continue to focus on the Canadian TV and radio market, they are also actively working on partnering with other data providers, including digital and social, to create what they call a ‘multi-lens’ perspective. “If I’m trying to understand the value of an audience, just understanding how many consumed it isn’t always enough. You need to understand how it made them feel, what emotions get generated, what they do as a result.” adds David Phillips.

NLogic spent the last 18 months developing the warehouse and first version of Lens, called Lens Viewers, which focuses on TV ratings data. The last 3 months have been spent refining the product based on feedback generated from a beta test involving several select clients. Results from the beta test have been extremely positive, with testers highlighting the products’ intuitive functionality and speed.

“We’re in an exciting place in the industry where minute by minute audience data allows us to uncover a vast amount of information about how audiences are consuming media. With more granular data, TV and radio audience analyses have become more complex and reports can be challenging to access. NLogic has provided a solution with Lens Viewers that allows our planners and buyers, across Initiative, m2 and UM, to spend less time building complicated reports and more time analyzing viewing patterns. The program is simple, intuitive and easy to use.” – Chris Herlihey, VP Research, Mediabrands

NLogic is already working on their next Lens product along with building an API that will offer media agencies and broadcasters opportunities to integrate Numeris data seamlessly into their own business intelligence tools and other systems. “We’re morphing into a tech company. It’s an incredibly exciting transformation, and we’re very excited to be able to share the first fruits of it with our clients.” Phillips says.
