From this morning's Broadcast Dialogue:
Doug Veronelly of Calgary’s Country 105 (CKRY-FM), hosted his final The Odd Squad morning show Sept. 23 after announcing his retirement earlier this summer. Country stars George Canyon, Paul Brandt and Bobby Wills joined in the celebration of Veronelly’s 24 years on-air. Former Country 105 afternoon host Roger Rhodes joins The Odd Squad with co-hosts Dan Carson and Robyn Adair.

The door is not revolving for CJAY 92 host Gerry Forbes after all. Forbes has renewed his contract for another two years just as he celebrates his 60th birthday. The host of The Gerry Forbes Show was expected to retire but decided he wasn’t ready to stop waking up Calgary listeners. Forbes has been with the station for 23 years and his known for his stunts and volunteer work.

Gord Gillies, anchor of Calgary’s Global News Hour at 6 p.m is joining News Talk 770 (CHQR) host Angela Kokott on Calgary Today’s Friday Free For All. Starting Sept. 30, every Friday from 3-4:00 p.m. the well-known news personalities will take on the top stories of the week.

Caroline Hunter is heading back to Winnipeg to join 99.9 BOB FM (CFWM-FM) as mid-day announcer after five years in communications. Hunter spent 16 years at QX 104 (CFQX-FM) before leaving the morning show in 2011. She is also stadium announcer for the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers and has worked with Winnipeg Harvest in communications and development since 2013. Her first day on air will be Oct. 11.

Dahlia Kurtz, Winnipeg talk show host with 680 CJOB, has announced her last show on the station will be Sept. 30 after three years with the Corus station. Kurtz is also a writer and has worked with CBC and Sun Media.

Elizabeth Priest is the new news director for Harvard Broadcasting Fort McMurray. Priest joined the team from Winnipeg where she was a reporter/anchor with 680 CJOB. Other career stops include being news reporter at Blackburn Radio Wingham and then-Astral Radio Trail.
