Happy Birthday today to Russ Byth :salute: ..

We're not sure of his age, but it could be 26 or 56! I'm sure he'll share the info with us. :happy1:

Have a great day Russ! :occasion4:

Happy Happy to one of my favourite local radio personalities.
Russ cuts through the corporate BS to give understandable reports on the often baffling world of business.
And he's a good guy to boot!
I owe you your beverage of choice at the next RadioWest get together!

Thanks guys. You know RF, its 30 years ago this year you gave me my first job in radio.... something which I'll never forgive you.... oops, I mean forget! Lets just say its somewhere in between 26 and 56, and closer to one rather than the other. Sorry sandclan...no points for you.... again! But bonus to the Mouth for at least keeping it in the neighbourhood! Thank you for the kind words Mike.... and I'll hold you to it!

A day late, I am. No fooling when I say a belated happy birthday, Russ. Never had the pleasure of meeting you, but can honestly say I enjoy listening. I'll let Mike buy you a pint....but I will raise mine to you :toothy1:

Cheers

I think your initials guarantee you a job for life at Rogers. RB=Rogers Batteryless, which Ted Rogers Sr. immortalized when he founded CFRB. The CF=Canada's First came later, likely coined by an on-air person, rather than Ted himself.

The whole Batteryless thing came with Ted Sr.'s invention of a vacuum tube that could withstand the strain of running on AC current, instead of DC, as all tubes required up to that time. In turn, the tube he invented allowed his invention of both radio receivers and transmitters that ran on AC ("plug it into the wall socket"), rather than batteries and DC Convertors.

So, so long as you don't malign the parentage of Nadir, I'd say you'll have a job at Rogers until you choose to retire.

Happy belated birthday wishes!

Hey-Now! Just a minute now. I'm first to admit that maybe I've crossed the line a few times on this board, as it's been pointed out more than once, but "breakerchannel", you make me look like an amateur. First of all, the remarks made toward Mr. Byth all seem to be most flattering, and complimentary. By all accounts he's a popular guy. Not everyone likes everyone else, but a thread on birthday wishes isn't the place to knee a guy in the nuts!! (sorry Kat, and Mrs. P.). Breakerchannel, a comment like yours comes only from a total Jerkoff! And I hope R.F. uses his censorship abilities and removes your comment immediately before Mr. Byth stumbles upon it.

What? I agree with that yee guy. "breakerchannel", you're in the wrong place for a comment like that  Why don't you go back to PSR, where you belong! You said the wrong thing, about the wrong guy, at the wrong time. I think you'll find that Russ has a lot of friends on this board, and don't be surprised if they run your ass out of town.....and the sooner, the better  Get the message?
