Anyone remember King's Drive In? On March 24th of 1956 the Surrey location had it's grand opening...

They even had Jack Kyle from CKNW on location

Thanks to Firedog for sharing this piece of vancouver history!
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

The old King's building is still standing at the south end of the Pattullo Bridge. I think it's a used car lot now.

There was also one in Richmond on Westminster Highway just west of #3 Rd, where Richmond Centre is now. The name likely came
from the Burnaby location on Kingsway near Central Park (maybe at Petterson?).

There also used to a King's Drive-In on Kingsway in that strip between King Edward & Victoria (not too far from Wally's Burgers).
