We may not hear from Eldon today. Rumour has it that he is doing his own 24 hour marathon viewing of "Pirate Radio" at a local theatre.

Very appealing, as you only have to pay one admission for the entire day.

Happy Birthday, Eldon!
As for "Pirate Radio," a good piece of entertainment with chunks from the various pirate stations woven into a fictionalized story.
A few technical errors, there were none of those Luxo mic arms back then, they'd be using Dazors or something home made.
The ship would not have kept broadcasting as it sank, the water would have hit the generators first as they were in the bowels of the ship.
But the boards, the mics, the cart machines and turntables were correct, obviously the props people looked at old photos from "Caroline" and others.
And they probably couldn't use the turntables unless the sea was dead calm.
The rolling would throw the arm off the record.
I think most of the music actually was played from carts.
Still, pretty entertaining as I said, with great music and a cast of characters anyone who was in the biz in the '60's would recognize.
Sort of a British version of "WKRP."

Happy Birthday Mr CFAY

I hope Mrs CFAY baked you a nice big cake along with a scrumptuous Easter dinner.

Are you and that Roxy guy still going around to different areas with your radios to see what you
can pick up?

Here's to another year of health and wealth! :occasion6:

Belated birthday greetings to you Mr. CFAY.

Sounds like you and your chums had a lot of fun with your pirate stations when you were growing up. We
did the same thing up in the interior in the late 60s.

Like you, I still scan the dial almost every night. Also get some interesting catches on the drive from here
to Departure Bay on the mornings I head over to the mainland on the first ferry.

Greetings all, tis me Mr. CFAY, lost in cyberspace!!! Many thanks for all the birthday greetings everyone! Sorry I am late in responding but we are having on-line computer problems at our QTH (otherwlise known as the apt. address). No Pluto I*m not missing in action and I didn't get stuck on the pirate radio movie marathon Jon!!! Sounds like a good idea though. Kat MRS CFAY took me out for a nice dinner and dessert at one of the local restaurants, great steak!!! We haven't been doing many remote dx sessions etc. in parks etc. lately because of the weather although Jan. and Feb. were surprisingly nice. Have been busy with other projects though and spent quite a bit of time watching the Olympics, and ParaOlympics. Really enjoyed that! Might be going to the record collector swap meet tomorrow Pluto so may see you there. Thanks for the info. about your pirate radio activities Sparky! Good talking to you on the landline on my birthday RadioFan! Dan I*ll get that KKHI 1550 QSL to you as soon as posslible, haven't been making it to Maple Ridge much the last 3 months, lots of snow on the mountains there right now, from Langlley it looks to be down to ground level at Maple Fridge!!!
