MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I find it sad that my niece's school will actually send someone to the principal's office if they dare wish someone a Merry Christmas on the school property (what was the School Board smoking before that motion was adopted??) This PC thing has gone over the top. Sorry, I'd write more but I'm off to have some CHRISTMAS Egg Nog (not that Holiday Egg Nog Safeway sells) before decorating my CHRISTMAS tree I bought from a CHRISTMAS tree farm(no Holiday tree for me) while playing CHRISTMAS CAROLS (not Seasonal music). Then I'll lay out my CHRISTMAS cards over the fireplace mantle while reminiscing with my family about how well my daughter sang at her CHRISTMAS concert (Winter festival....NOT!). Then I'll take my daughter to stand in line to tell Santa what she wants for CHRISTMAS (what ELSE could you possibly call Dec. 25th....Winter Festival Day????).

I say anyone who chooses to go the PC route should be forced to work on Dec. 25th as they won't be celebrating CHRISTMAS with the non-PC majority.

Tune in next time when we discuss the merits of following the U.S. lead of having Black Friday vs Boxing Day...that way we get the big sales BEFORE CHRISTMAS. NOTE to merchants: if your Boxing Day sales aren't going to offer anything better than the Buy 1, Get 1 at Half Price we've been bombarded by pre-CHRISTMAS, maybe stay closed on the 26th this year!!! :mousewalk
Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars!

Happy Christmas and the best of 2010 to you ....

This was interesting - considering a lot of front line stations involved.

Citadel Broadcasting Corp., the nation's third-largest radio broadcasting company, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Sunday in an effort to restructure its hefty debt load as it continues to face declining advertising revenue.
Citadel owns and operates 224 radio stations, including KABC-AM in Los Angeles, WLS-AM in Chicago, WABC-AM and WPLJ-FM in New York and KGO-AM in San Francisco. Citadel's WABC is home to several syndicated hosts, including Don Imus, Rush Limbaugh, Joe Scarborough and Mark Levin.
In documents filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, Las Vegas-based Citadel listed total assets at Oct. 30 of $1.4 billion and total debt of $2.46 billion. The company said in a statement it has reached an agreement with more than 60 percent of its lenders on a deal that would erase about $1.4 billion of debt in exchange for control of the company.
"Our business will continue as usual and the company will work to emerge from the restructuring process as quickly as possible," CEO Farid Suleman said in a statement. Citadel has retained turnaround specialist Alvarez & Marsal North America LLC as its restructuring adviser.
Such deals usually wipe out shareholders completely. That hits private equity firm Forstmann Little & Co. - who holds a nearly 29 percent stake - the hardest. The company's largest shareholder acquired a $2 billion stake in Citadel in January 2001 through a leveraged buyout. Documents show New York-based Forstmann Little currently owns about 76 million shares of Citadel's 265.8 million shares outstanding.
Forstmann Little could not be reached for comment Sunday.

Perhaps had they provided programming to which people actually would listen, they might not be in this fix.
Perhaps if they had not overextended themselves with borrowed money, they might not be in this fix.
Perhaps if they had saved some of the profits they made, they might not be in this fix.

Yes, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all, and to all a good night.

I just got home, listening in the car to CFRW Winnipeg playing Casey Kasem's Christmas Classic Countdown.

Farid Suleman is a real POS. He's nothing more than a sleazy accountant that has managed to make a billion and a half dollars disappear. The guy should be in jail. Thankfully KGO managed to stay pretty much intact despite being owned by Citadel.
