I don't understand why he just didn't push the Earth into a reverse spin on it's axis so as to turn back time to a point before the accident even happened.

Too bad that "Super Dave" Osborne is already a serious icon.

It's been, what, over fifteen years since the last re-run of a Super Dave show on any of the Canadian cable channels. Meaning he's faded into memory even more than Pat, the dead dog that Mackenzie King liked to talk to. I think you could safely give the Super Dave handle a new lease on life.

D.R. was supposed to be in Mexico by now for his long awaited 2-3 month vacation. Hard to believe that the 660 News editorial gig was enough to keep him in Calgary. Any word on him changing his mind yet again and throwing his hat in the ring for Calgary's next mayor? After all, he's in town anyway.

As "Super Dave" Osborne was a fictional character who never got anything right - ever - I'm pretty sure Dave Rutherford would be uncomfortable with getting tagged by the reference.

The original "Super Dave" was played by Bob Einstein, whose brother, Albert Brooks, (that's right, his parents named him "Albert Einstein") is far better known as a movie biggie. It was produced, along with "Bizarre" out of CFTO-Toronto and the Markham Theatre. Bob Einstein did well as a writer for other star comedians of the day before developing his superhero.

By the way, I still miss "Fuji Hakayito" ("Fooj") along with every announcer' s stereotypical and cliched announcer, Mike Walden.

Bob's best role is as Marty Funkhouser on "Curb Your Enthusiasm". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssjUcMkRG7g
On a side note I once ran into Jeff Garlin at Amoeba Records in LA. We were both shopping for vinyl. Now back to our regular thread.

Good stuff Dave...

Uncontrolled diabetes is a real problem... would be a good topic for the 660 space. Steroid use/abuse can cause drug induced diabetes etc.
