Matt and Eric

Postby briancook451 » Sat Jul 25, 2015 4:15 pm

I was on the jack fm Calgary page and noticed that the link for the Matt and Eric show is gone. Even doing a Google search to get the link comes up with an error. I didn't hear anything about them being let go but it's clear on the website they have been let go which is sad. They were good and probably the only reason people tuned in. Sounds like Larry and Willy all over again. Guess Rogers doesn't learn from past mistakes

Here is the dead link to the show http://m.jackfm.ca/matt-and-eric/

That's some good detective work.

Snooping their respective twitter accounts doesn't provide any further clues at the moment -

Matt O'Neill - https://twitter.com/morningshowmatt

Eric Francis - https://twitter.com/ericfrancis

My bet is that Eric Francis lands at sister station Sportsnet 960 the Fan, doing more than his usual visit with Rob Kerr on Friday afternoons, and retains his position as an analyst during intermissions on Sportsnet West Calgary Flames' telecasts.

Matt has managed to stick around through what three format changes at 96.9? Rock 97, KISS 96.9 (in its "urban," rap/hip hop days) and then 96.9 Jack FM? Didn't Matt take over from Rob Christie as morning show host on Standard's Mix 99.9 FM in Toronto before joining Rogers in Calgary?

A run of over a decade together doing mornings is a pretty good achievement. :salute:

WOW!!! Calgarys longest morning show is now gone :( I guess the ratings caught up to Matt and Eric. Wish both of them the best of luck in the future

I think Country 105's "Odd Squad" remains Calgary's longest running morning show. It's been 20 years since Doug Veronelly, Robyn Adair and Dan Carson got together at CKRY.
