The Calgary Stampeders and Corus Entertainment are pleased to announce an agreement that will see News Talk 770 broadcast the team’s games through the 2022 season. In addition, Global Calgary will continue to be a Stampeders partner.

The partnership between the Stamps and News Talk 770 was established in 1992.

“The Calgary Stampeders and Corus Entertainment have always enjoyed an excellent and mutually beneficial partnership and we’re delighted that this relationship will continue thanks to this agreement,” said Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation president and CEO Ken King. “We look forward to working with the wonderful and talented people at News Talk 770 and Global.”

Along with the games, News Talk 770 will be the only place to get in-depth, original Stampeders programming including exclusive access and special features on the team, community initiatives and events all year long. Listeners can hear the exclusive play-by-play of every game led by Canadian Football Hall of Fame broadcaster Mark Stephen and colour commentator Greg Peterson.

“Stability has played an integral part of the Stampeders’ success over the years and that also applies to our broadcast partner,” said Stampeders president and general manager John Hufnagel. “News Talk 770 has been the radio voice of the Stampeders for more than a quarter of a century and for the vast majority of that time, Mark Stephen and Greg Peterson, the longest-serving broadcast team in CFL history, have brought our fans all the excitement of CFL action. We’re pleased that News Talk 770, Mark and Greg will continue to be a part of the Stampeders family.”

Global Calgary will also have expert sports coverage with special stories, highlights and stats with the Global Sports team – Kevin Smith, Brendan Parker and Lisa MacGregor.

“We know Calgarians love sports, which is why we’re thrilled to continue our strong partnership with the Calgary Stampeders, year after year,” says Kenton Boston, Vice-President, Global News & Corus Radio, Western Canada. “With our skilled team of sports journalists, Corus Radio and Global News will continue to provide the most comprehensive game coverage so audiences won’t miss a play.”
