KHQ FM 1984 Christmas Ad

Postby albertaboy4life » Thu Jan 21, 2016 7:36 pm

Another YouTube memory this time from "betamax" - 98 Q FM (KHQ Spokane) from what was likely its last Christmas as a TM Stereo Rock station. Earlier that year, 92.9 KREM FM became KZZU and 93 Zoo FM began its ascent. You could regularly hear the Zoo in stores in malls in Calgary and Edmonton via cable fm. Eventually, Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40 would move from KHQ FM to the Zoo with 98 Q eventually becoming KISC - 98 Kiss FM after the Cowles family sold it and AM sister station Q-59.

Rob Harder stuck around and was the morning show host for a number of years at 98 Kiss FM. No idea what became of Andy Monday and Dave Cooper.
