Global BC misses obvious angle on Black Friday

Postby crs » Thu Nov 22, 2012 7:23 am

Global's story on Black Friday and the draw of Canadians to the bargains Stateside focussed on comparing everyday US prices vs Canadian prices. The angle of the story SHOULD have been "why" Canadians are drawn south. Black Friday has huge sales....much of the stuff at half-price. Saw an eBook Reader on Barnes & Noble's website marked down from $99 to $59 for example. I find the Boxing Day sales up here are buy one at the regular price, get one half-price. Hardly what's going to draw shoppers out in droves. Not everyone camps out overnight Christmas for the one or two only items that are deep discounted at Future Shop et al. On the upside, we don't have shoppers trampled or killed unlike our American cousins. Happy shopping all...

If it's so obvious, as you say in the thread title, why would they waste time on it?

Or perhaps you mean something like, this is so obviously a TV thread, so I'm putting it in the radio category?
