The inept sheriff of Hazzard County has won enough money to impress Daisy Duke.

Actor James Best, who played Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane on “Dukes of Hazzard,” settled a civil suit against Warner Bros. for royalties owed to him from the hit show.

The exact terms of the settlement were not disclosed. But court documents filed in North Carolina said the studio owed Best $5 million to $25 million from sales of “Dukes” merchandise in the early years of the show, according to The Charlotte Observer.

The hit show about “two good old boys, never meanin’ no harm” ran from 1979 to 1985. In it Bo and Luke Duke constantly outsmarted and outraced Sheriff Coltrane in the General Lee — an orange Dodge Charger with a Confederate flag on the roof.

Best is the second TV lawman to make big bucks this week through a lawsuit.

Actor Don Johnson revealed Monday he won $19 million from the production company of his cop drama, “Nash Bridges.”
