Tony Parsons gets in retirement mode

After 30 plus years at CHAN-TV (Global BC), it looks like Tony Parsons is getting into retirement mode.

Beginning this fall Tony will work two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Weekend anchor and future full time anchor CHRIS GAILUS will anchor the Global 6PM News Thursdays thru Mondays.

Time to say goodbye.....I've never liked the picture of Tony in the promo for Global News....its so damned arrogant which Tony isn't

The other networks have to be rubbing their hands with glee, Gailus is awful. They keep ramming him down our throats by sticking him on every "major" story, but he comes off like a know-it-all American journo more content to sex up the story than actually give us some facts. Global could have kept integrity by scooping pros like GloMack and Handsome ManThing, but instead they continue the path of american-ization by grabbing this ex-pat, re-pat. (count how many stories they run that are off the bird instead of produced locally. add Gailus into the mix and you might as well watch Komo or King for your news) CTV and whatever City is running at 6 might actually have a chance now with this clown at the desk.
