Here is her Global National bio:

Robin Stickley
Global National Washington Correspondent

An accomplished and award-winning journalist, Robin Stickley has been a member of the Global News family for more than a decade and brings a wealth of experience with her as Global National’s Washington Correspondent.

Originally from Alberta, Robin was raised in an Air Force family and grew up overseas in Germany. As a young adult, she moved back to Canada to study and graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) with a degree in journalism, landing her first job as a reporter with television station RDTV Red Deer soon after.

In 2000, Robin joined Global Edmonton (then known as ITV) as a reporter and co-host of (what is now known as) the Morning News, and also helped launch First News Saturday, Edmonton’s first live weekend morning newscast. In 2003, she became the Trouble Shooter – the station’s consumer advocate – and provided viewers with valuable information on the latest scams and product recalls.

In January 2004, Robin moved to Vancouver as a reporter with Global BC, and later hosted the weekend editions of the Morning News and Noon News Hour. In 2009, she began anchoring Global BC’s weekend News Hour.

Throughout her career, Robin has covered several major national stories. She was one of the first reporters on the scene during the Taber, AB high school shooting, was on the ground in Kelowna, BC during the devastating 2009 forest fires that swept through the region, and anchored coverage as Global BC broke into regular programming to report on the BC Ferry crash in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver.

Outside of work, Robin keeps active by scuba diving, sailing and running, and recently completed her first IRONMAN half triathlon. A self-described airplane junkie, she has covered the Canadian Forces Snowbirds flight team, and even got to ride in an F-18.

Robin is also an avid dog lover, and is the owner of a nine-year-old pug named Doug.

Glad to see Deb Hope is gone, but I hate to say it, they need to get rid of Chris Gailus and Kristi Gordon too. Why not put Jill Krop at 5 pm or even Sophie Lui?

Actually, Sophie Lui at 5 pm. Move Jill Krop to the Noon News Hour and a primetime anchor on BC1. Have Lisa Rossington (they could snag her from CTV) and Shanel Pratap (could he move from Sports to News? Taggart moved from Weather over at CTV News Vancouver) anchoring the News Hour at 6 pm would be refreshing. They're stuck on this solo anchor business and isn't working. I bet CTV and/or CBC are eating their lunch, figuratively. (They can't possibly still be #1, can they!?). ;)

Also, move Anne Drewa and Aaron MacArthur to the Morning News programs.

Offer Gailus the News Hour Final gig at 11 pm, if he really loves Vancouver as much as he says does in the lame TV promo spots, he'll take it.

Cheers,
Doug
