Corpse greed killed the video star.
What goes around, comes around.
MuchMusic hasn't been a music station for more than a decade.

I always thought the reworking of the CHUM call letters was brilliant.

The MUCH name was first used for a record label in the early 1970s. A couple of Pagliaro's hits were on MUCH Records.

Pagliaro was way under rated. "Lovin You Ain't Easy" "What The Hell I Got" "Some Sing, Some Dance" "Louise" "Rain Showers". At least some of the Can/Con we were forced to play was GREAT.

Pag, as his fans called him, had the goods, IMHOP.

Perhaps the artists got tired of people seeing their music (that sounds weird), for free.

Right from the get-go I was of the opinion that the visuals were overwhelming the music. I still think so.
Every video eliminates the listener/viewer's option of generating their own visuals - in their own skulls.
Contemporary artists - even those who can sing and play - are being forced by the companies to expose themselves as no more than copycat posers. Not that it has been any different over the years - just sorely obvious now.
Plus, listening to audio is a passive experience and can be enjoyed while doing other things.
Watching video requires full attention. And full attention requires an "attention span".
Guess it's easy enough to figure out where I'm going with this...

The day I saw my first Game show on Much I decided it was on it's way out. Much more came along, but it lacked the rebellious fun of the original.. and the decision to not use real experienced talent to host shows was, in my opinion.. a poor one. haven't watched in over a decade.
