Here's a couple from Freddy Cannon.

Transistor Sister from 1961. Who didn't have one of these pricey little things in 1961.

The Dedication Song from 1966. It's probably something most of us did at one time or another.

Steve, I remember Cheap Trick, but that one must be some obscure album cut.

I think a few more will remember this one from 1980, Charlie Dore and Pilot Of The Airwaves

Here is Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers song "The Last DJ" (LIVE) The song tells it like it is... and remembering what was. A good "radio" song.

The link below is to a site that shows more than 100 songs related to radio; In the subject of the song, the title, or the groups name. There are some songs and groups on the site I have not herd of.

That's quite the nifty list.

# 15 caught my attention:

How To Kill A Radio Consultant - PUBLIC ENEMY

The punk-rock genre obviously isn't very much into symbolisim or word play.

This reminded me of one I'll have to dig up, I have the album here somewhere ..

Drake the Snake (P. D. Blues) by Daniel Moore from 1974.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Thanks for sharing this Ted. He sounds a wee bit like Bill Anderson.

It's one of the few songs that best describes life behind the microphone.

I like that Request Line line.

Hey what about these 2 Cancon oldies from 1984/85.....Anyone remember "Listen to the Radio" by The Pukka Orchestra or "Radio" by Cherie Champ pronounced Camp...I'm not sure if I spelled her name correctly but I have both songs on a cassette I made at the station way back when.Never big hits but were maple so we played the crap out of them .
