12 inch Vinyl is alive and well

Postby Tape Splicer » Wed Oct 09, 2013 7:19 pm

I was walking through our local London Drugs entertainment section and almost walked into a display of 12 inch Vinyl records.
I saw The Beatles and other popular artists of the 60s and 70s. It was interesting to look at the jacket notes and the album art. Now all one needs is a turntable on which to play these gems.
Just think, soon we'll be able to hear scratchy rock 'n' roll again.

And with that USB-Turntable, audio conversion software and a computer the LP owner will soon ave their new LP in mp3 format and on the latest version of a smart phone. or on a flash drive for instant listening any time.... The wheel goes round-and-round.

Hi Everyone,
London Drugs started selling new vinyl lp records about a year ago. Vinyl records are making a big comeback all across North America especially in the USA, sales have gone up. I never stopped collecting vinyl lps and 45s. Best way to hear them is using a turntable with good ole fashioned warm high quality tube technology like McIntosh Amplifiers made in the USA still!!! Tube sound is fantastic, nice warm sit in front of the fireplace on a cold winter night!!! None of that non-warmth digital sound to it!!! Analog all the way!!!!

All the best everyone,

73s Eldon

All of the wonderful new digital technology aside...
(an emoticon for sarcasm would be useful here)

... the continuing advances in the latest electronic technologies fail to take one key point into account:

The digital sciences will never overcome the physics of sound.

Human hearing will never be digital.
