A new Beatles box set due out next year will reissue all 13 of the band's American albums, including five that have never been available on CD before. The collection will arrive on January 21st as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Beatles' first trip to the United States, Billboard reports.

Capitol Records has compiled the set, titled The U.S. Albums, beginning with Meet the Beatles from 1964 and ending with 1970's Hey Jude. The U.S versions of Beatles LPs often have different track lists, mixes, titles and art from the U.K. versions of the same records. The American versions of A Hard Day's Night, Yesterday and Today and Revolver, the U.S.-only compilation Hey Jude and the 1964 audio commentary album The Beatles' Story had never been issued on CD before.

Each CD will be packaged in a replica of the original LP art and inner sleeves. The box set will also include a 64-page booklet, and all of the albums aside from Hey Jude and The Beatles' Story will come in mono and stereo. Each of the CDs (aside from The Beatles' Story) will also be available for individual purchase for a limited time.

The Recording Academy announced today that the Beatles will be honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award during a special ceremony the night before the 56th Annual Grammys in January. Not long after that, CBS will be airing a two-hour special called The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles on February 9th, exactly 50 years after the Fab Four made their legendary debut on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Not suggesting anything, only want to point out something that caught my eye today. I know people like to make backups etc.
