Phil Collins wins Johnny Mercer songwriting award

Singer Phil Collins has received the prestigious Johnny Mercer Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame gala.
The singer, who has sold over 100 million records as a solo artist and with the band Genesis, said writing a popular track is "a complete accident".

oh yeah, there's one or two I'd consider "train wrecks" (or maybe I just got burned out playing "Against All Odds" in rotation EVERY FREAKIN' DAY!)

What he said. I guess those in Mercerland know what they're doing, However, I still haven't forgiven the little twerp for inflicting Suisuidio (sic) upon us

Mercer was a genius,and minus his demons, would have been even bigger and more popular. Moon River cool, Savannah style,occasionally Southern gothic wierd, and witty:
