Follow-up/Answer Songs

Yes, Follow-up songs and Answer songs are often two different things. Answer songs, for example, are often by different artists.

Well, if you were listening to "50s on 5" on XM/Sirius yesterday afternoon, you may have heard one I never knew about.

Have any of you ever heard the follow-up and answer song to "Papa-Oom-Mow-Mow" by the Rivingtons? I never had before. And confirmed my suspicion: CFUN never charted it, so they probably never played it.

OK, I thought this might be a nice Google-proof trivia question that you could only figure out from the latest version of Joel Whitburn's Top Pop Singles, or an old version of his Bubbling Under book.

But YouTube has me licked. Both songs are there.

Even more intriguing is a comment post on YouTube by the former KOMA custodian of the Wax Museum, as they call their vinyl library, that there was a third song in the series.
