Thought the old dog might enjoy this....

"First it was demoted from the solar system and now it has been promoted to being the word of the year by the American Dialect Society.

Pluto might not be a planet anymore but the word 'Pluto-ed' beat 'climate canary' to become the word of the year.

To pluto is to demote or devalue someone or something, as happened to the former planet Pluto when the General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union decided Pluto no longer met its definition of a planet in August 2006.

When asked what the word meant, most people looked puzzled. However, there were some who thought it meant "funny". The word is not fun but it is definately fun to see them get plutoed for not knowing the right answer."

Would help if they spelled 'definitely' right, but you get the idea.

It's a great honour to be named 'word of the year' for 2006 by the American Dialect Society.

Thanks for all who voted, and I promise you, I won't let you down.
