VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - The driver who piled into a pre-wedding procession on an Abbotsford road says he's grieving for the six people who were killed in the accident.
Seventy-one-year-old Bachitar Singh Brar told Sher-E-Punjab radio that he also feels for the families of the bride and groom.

Brar says he drove up a slope on his way home from work at a blueberry cannery and that he became confused when he saw lots of people on the road but couldn't brake in time.

Seventeen people were injured in the accident late Friday night.

Brar says he's very upset about what happened and trying to come to terms with the fact that it's not his fault.
He says he'll meet with the bride's and groom's families when they're ready to talk to him.

No-one takes responsibity for themselves these days. Must be Chevy's fault for building the truck.

Why were those people in the middle of the road at night?

Common sense has left the building

I drove those back roads in south surrey/langley recently and I can
visualize how it happened.

It truly could have been a sitution where a normal speed was too much
for the driver to handle in braking for a group of people who were on the roadway where they should not have been in poor light/road conditions.

The vehicle was old, the driver was old the story is old

As the local CAA (Alberta Motor Association = AMA) keeps saying (paraphrase): "As long as we keep calling them Accidents, people are much less likely to realize how many could be prevented."
