I haven't seen a Diefendollar for about 40 years!
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

For those on here too young to remember...92/12 cents is what our dollar was 'pegged' (no floating rate) to the US dollar at for most of the 60's. The lowest floating rate was just above 62 cents in January 2002. The highest was just over $1.06 in August 1957. It hit parity for a split second this (Thur) morning about 8am and about 11:40. It closed at 99.87.

For the record, the Canadian dollar peaked at $1.45 during the U.S. Civil War. But I don't suppose any of our visitors were around to take advantage of that fact.
