No disagreement. Although the real question in my mind will only be answered until tomorrow morning. Since this is a national story, how many Canwest newspapers across the country will publish the article in their print edition with the headline misspelled?

My personal prediction, er, hope, is that the answer is none. I can see no one reading the lead paragraph, but I would think that headlines are different, as they appear to be locally rewritten separately for each paper, based on the available space. Only the light of day will tell.

This one cut and pasted here from another blog we sometimes read....
AS has uncovered memos from David Basi setting out the shenanigans surrounding the Campbell government's breach of promise and sale of BC Rail. I'm much indepted.

It was inserted into an article by Rafe Mair and I doubt he was rushed enuff to make this miss steak

Maybe there's a need for intelligent typos catching SW.

My first thought was to hire me, I'm good at catching  other people's typos. But I don't make a very reliable trained monkey.

Meanwhile, I note that one cancon some of the people some of the people some of the time, but can'tcon all of the people all of the time.

Except for those attendees who CFACTS got to sign a petition to ban dihydrogenmonoxide. :yahoo:

They'd probably want it done sooner than a month later as well!

In my quest for stories on Easy Rock's heavily rumoured change to Virgin, I ran into this piece of a Toronto Sun article that almost undoubtedly made it into print, complete with obvious spelling error:
"Jason Roberts with Edmonton's EZ Rock said he can see why the CBSC would sensor the song."

So. Paul P, do you have a point or are you just being a _________ (decent people can fill in the blanks).

Proof reading seems to be less these days.

One bit of advice is to curb automatic spelling correction features in word processors including in email. It takes some digging in Word and Outlook to get turned off.
