TORONTO, Oct. 26, 2011 /CNW/ - In an unprecedented opening week, one-time powerhouse Toronto morning radio duo, Humble and Fred, have received nearly 130,000 downloads in the inaugural series of their new daily podcast show.
The fellas have looked at the numbers from every angle presuming a mistake, but web numbers don't lie, so they must accept this impressive launch.
The new show available at Humbleandfredradio.com, and via iTunes, is an independent alternative to mainstream radio, and driven primarily by social media platforms, viral distribution and Fred's mother telling all her friends.
The first week's shows have struck a chord with both longtime Humble and Fred listeners and new audiences alike, who are connecting to the irreverent brand of raw talk radio format.
"It is no hold-barred radio, and we think audiences are going to relate to that," says Humble Howard. "No gimmicks, no limits and no idea of what's going to happen next - often because we don't know what we're doing next.
