Corus' new HOT AC station in Winnipeg "99.1 FRESH FM" will launch tomorrow morning at 7AM CST. The website is already happening:

Well that's very exciting of Corus to come up with much of what is already in Winnipeg as a new station. It just adds up to more homoginization of the FM radio in Winnipeg. It's a sad outcome of what was a unique radio service in Winnipeg 10 or so years ago. It's no wonder that people these days go elsewhere to find music.

The key, for them and any sign-on, will be in their Personalities. To openly plagiarize Northern Lights: "Tunes Are Not Enough".

99.1 Winnipeg sort of reminds me of CJAZ in Vancouver which evolved from something new & unique, into same old same old.
