What will Winnipeg's Q 94 re-appear as?

Radio News from Manitoba

CHUM owned Q 94 FM in Winnipeg is in countdown mode to a new format...one programmed by the listeners.

Check the Q-94 Website for the countdown clock.
Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

There are really only two holes in the Winnipeg radioscape, Alternative Rock and Urban/Hip Hop. I kind of doubt CHUM would take a chance with either. Another hole will be created if Q94 drops Hot AC though, so I'm leaning towards guessing it will remain Hot AC with a whole new approach and a new branding. Don't forget it was Q94's Winnipeg sister CFWM 99.9 that became the first BOB FM five or six years ago and look at the phenomenon that created across the continent. Can they come close to matching that?

The stunting is really taking the form of an all-female appeal BOB. They could tilt BOB a little more male and have a great combo.

A great example of an oxymoron

No real change occurred, only a tweak and a new logo. It got everyones attention though which I guess is what CHUM set out to do in the first place.

Sort of an interesting mix....sort of the BOB take on CHR. There's also a once-an-hour country crossover hit.

We'll see if "I hope you Dance" and "Sexyback" belong on the same station.

Q94 sounds like Star 94 in Atlanta or like Z95 in Vancouver.
