- Joy Roberts White joined Reuters in London as a short-hand typist on March 4, 1929. She moved up the ranks to sub-editor and reporter before leaving in 1944.
- In Edmonton, she worked as a journalist in print and broadcasting from 1955 through the 1990’s.
- She is a member of the Edmonton Press Club
- She interviewed Haile Selassii, the last Emperor of Ethiopia for Reuters. (She was the only one on her team at Reuters who could speak French – she also speaks Spanish)
- She hitch-hiked to the DEW Line in Northern Canada in the 50’s to interview the troops.
- She interviewed James “Jimmy” Stewart when he was in the Military.
