A couple of TV old-timers who had off-air support roles in Edmonton have died in the past week.
Vic Wintoniak was one of the original film cameramen hired when CBXT opened in 1961. Vic worked at CFRN before joining CBC Edmonton when the station signed on. He later managed the CBC Edmonton film department before moving on to become a success in the insurance business. He died May 4th. The family invites friends to join them at a reception to honor his memory on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Derrick Golf & Winter Club, 3500 - 119 Street from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. If so desired, donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.
