I think this is a first. I don't think I've ever seen a station with a 0.0 rating.

Even AM 730 didn't get hash marks when they were off the air after their fire last year. Likewise when they were off the air for several months after blowing up NW2 several years ago.

When will the Kelowna wine guys smarten up and start asking where all their money is going and where is the return?

I guess you could blame the lack of PPM monitors in Pigeon Square for this result.

Jim, I talked with RadioFan, and I cannot EVER recall a station with a ZIP, ZERO, NADA.

The Station would be a great tax write off....because they must be struggling to make some bucks.

Media generally is in deep clam dip.

Yes.

That's gotta be worse than the flat lines CKO used to register and they had a complete market signal not just 6 city blocks. What's that a square kilometre?

The commissions for the sales crew must have them on the KD diet too.

And don't feed me a nonsense line about looking at the 25 - 44 demo. A zero is a zero just like a handful of cheerios.

It is. CKO was barely above CBUF-FM but it did have a cume of 69,000 in one book.

From David Bray:
Vancouver: CBC Radio One grabs the #1 spot for A12+ with an 13.8% share of hours tuned (down from 14.4% last time out). Taking the top spot for F25-54 was QM-FM, posting a 16.8% share (down from 18.3% last time out). Rock101 grabs the lead for M25-54 listeners, delivering a 10.0% share (down from 10.1%). In a real oddity, QM-FM is out in front for M18-34 with a 14.1% share of hrs. tuned followed by the FOX at 14.0%. When it comes to Females 18-34, JR Country takes top spot with 19.4% share.

From TD Securities, on the ratings' impact on Corus:
The Numeris data paints a mixed picture for Corus' radio operations with three of
the four markets showing q/q gains, including Toronto which was driven by improved
Q107 (CILQFM) ratings post the inclusion of Jennifer Valentyne on the morning show.
However, Toronto was still down y/y and this is the second consecutive quarter of y/
y market share losses in the Toronto market, which accounts for a large portion of
local ad spend. Calgary continues to be a very challenged market for ad dollars, and
as a result, we are not as concerned with the ratings decrease y/y.
To remind readers, Corus has suggested before that a 3 point increase in share in
major markets would generate over $5 million in incremental revenue (0.30% change
in annual revenue). We also note that Corus' radio segment now accounts for less
than 10% of revenues and EBITDA, having historically hovered around 20-25% of
revenue and EBITDA before the Shaw Media acquisition.

As usual, the numbers shown here don't matter.
2+ means nothing.
David Bray has the real numbers, the ones that count and bring in the bucks.

When Roundhouse Radio was first conceived many people "in the know" suggested that they would be making a huge mistake by putting a primarily Talk based station on the FM band. They scoffed at that idea saying that the AM band is dead. Well, yesterday's PPM's just show how wrong they were. In the top 10 overall in Vancouver the #1, #3, and #8 positions are held by AM stations while Roundhouse is at the bottom with 0 listeners. Another big problem for Roundhouse is the fact that CKSR in Chilliwack (Star FM) also broadcasts on 98.3. CKSR is dominant on that frequency until you get close to the Vancouver city limits which means about 3/4 of the population in the Lower Mainland have no on air access to their signal. The philosophy behind Roundhouse Radio is a good one and I'm sure it would have been a lot more successful had it been located on the AM band where it belongs.
