Those who danced were thought to be quite insane by those who couldn't hear the music.

Here is how David Bray sums it up:
Vancouver: CBC Radio One grabs the #1 spot for A12+ with an 12.7% share of hours tuned (up from 11.7% last time out). Taking the top spot for F25-54 was QM-FM, posting a 17.3% share (up from 13.0% last time out). The FOX grabs the lead for M25-54 listeners, delivering a 9.7% share (down from 11.3%). In a real oddity QM-FM is out in front for M18-34 with a 15.1% share of hrs. tuned followed by Virgin at 14.1% and the FOX at 12.2%. When it comes to Females 18-34, JR Country takes top spot with 17.2% share.

Congratulations to TSN 1040 on their #1 finish with females 18-24 with a 20 share, up from 0.6. Yay PPM!

Are you saying that younger women can't be sports fans, Aaron?

I jest - if this is what actually happened, that's what you get in this style of PPM system.

Is the Moneris ratings system even relevant, anymore. If I listen to a certain radio station for JUST one minute, per day, how am I really a listener ?

If you have 10,000 "hit and run," one minute, listeners, how do I, the advertiser, benefit ?

(Similarly, if I am a radio announcer doing 250 thousand tasks, per shift, am I really a radio announcer, or am I b.s.ing the public (and management) into believing that I am a radio deejay or newsman, where in fact, I am just another voice about to get fired ?)

Long time broadcast journalist Ian Jessop makes a great point, on the other site.

I think that much of the Moneris "cool aid" is malarkey, expensive malarkey, too ! Also, much of the good stuff is hidden from public consumption, so why bother tell us at all ? Might as well keep your malarkey to yourselves !

That's not chavinistic, it's cause for celebration. TSN Vancouver cut back staff like the true beancounters they are, this past year, yet people still listen to them. Amazed that they have any listeners at all !
