How much longer will Corus go with the JOE - FM flavour? The branding is old and slowly passing away. UP and CAPITAL have eroded a once top-tier station.

Although CHED has it's big signal, I'm sure one option that Corus is considering for 92.5 is moving CHED to FM. They're not making any more FM frequencies, so this is the only way CHED can
carry on it's market dominance and add younger demos.

The same scenario is very likely in Vancouver where Corus has two FM signals that are in need of new formats. Either CFOX or CFMI will one day be CKNW News/Talk 99.3 or 101.1.

CHED, NW, etc. on FM might happen one of these days, but under existing regulations it would be quite difficult. Spoken Word formats on FM require a specialty license. This would include News-Talk, Sports, All News formats, etc. Also if CHED wanted to operate on both 630 and 92.5, or NW on 980 and 101.1 it couldn't happen under the existing AM-FM simulcast rules.
