Chuck Chandler Triple Celebration

Postby jon » Tue Sep 30, 2008 2:02 am

Today (Tuesday, September 30, 2008) is Chuck Chandler's 64th birthday. He also leaves for his new home in Malaga on the Spanish Riviera, to be with his two adult sons who live there.

Today also marks the debut of the only known aircheck of Chuck's last on-air appearance, on Saturday, May 24, 2008, for a single 5 hour shift on Capital-FM (CKRA-FM 96.3 Edmonton).

Chuck's last 49 minutes (scoped to 13 minutes)

And, finally, a big thank you to an auto service shuttle driver who yesterday led me to Chuck's major movie acting credit, as a Track Announcer in Fast Company. So, that rounds out his EdmontonBroadcasters.com bio to look like this:

Chuck it was great working with you briefly. Have a great retirement and enjoy the sunshine. You were an inspiration to many of us who wanted a career in radio. From the first time we met when you were hanging with Batman Bob Gibbons and the rest of the CJCA gang, to the year at CKXM and the day we spent in the Iroc we learned a lot. Remember Big E with a warm heart.

Almost forgot Happy Birthday Charles P Rodney Chandler.

The last time we chatted, you didn't remember me at CFOX in Montreal...not surprised....you were a star, busy with John and Yoko...I was in the back of the room...not being too loud....then I left the Fox to go to Vancouver....a happy retirement to you...I remember you and that's all that counts!

Hopefully, Chuck will read this thread from Spain. So far, I don't have an e-mail for him there (Shaw doesn't offer Internet service there).

Not sure if I've mentioned it elsewhere, but NewCap has been running a Chuck car commercial. But it is not being aired on Corus.
