The final chapter in this whole charade has finally occurred. KMCQ 104.5 in Covington (serving Seattle) was officially launched yesterday with 60’s & 70’s Oldies. At this point their only “live” personality is longtime Seattle jock Mark Christopher (ex-of KJR & KBSG):
http://www.americanpopradio.com/To facilitate KMCQ’s move into the Seattle market 4 radio stations were effected and had to relocate to different frequencies. College station KMIH 104.5 in Mercer Island moved to 88.9, KDBD 103.9 in Forks (on the Olympic Peninsula) moved to 96.7, KAFE 104.3 Bellingham moved to 104.1, and of course CHHR 104.1 moved to 104.3.
KMCQ spent big bucks on this and somehow survived through all the bureaucratic rigmarole involved (from 2 countries, yet). I guess time will tell if it was really worth it.
