790 KJRB / 94.1 K223BD

Postby TRENT310 » Mon Mar 20, 2017 11:52 pm

Surfing the airwaves this evening and noticed that 790 KJRB Spokane is running a looped promo with a few "bear themed" teasers, promoting a launch of a new format at 94.1 on Tuesday at 7AM.
All the info I've been able to dig up is a construction permit associated with translator station K223BD.

I've been able to reliably hear the AM station from Edmonton at night, since CFCW moved up the dial. Below is a short audio clip excerpt recorded off my CCRadio2E (as I couldn't find a functioning online stream) from about 715km away.

Interestingly enough, the AM station went back to the Magic 790 format in the evening. I'm not familiar with the legalities in the USA but are they allowed to launch a station as a translator to a primary station and then split it right away as an independent operation?
